Uwe Rosler’s Wigan lost at QPR last night in the Championship play-offs, setting up a return to Griffin Park for the former Brentford boss next season.
Most Bees fans would, of course, liked to have seen their West London rivals lose last night instead – hopefully Derby County will finish off the job at Wembley instead.
Rosler was generally a popular figure at Griffin Park, setting up the good foundations for promotion that have now been continued by Mark Warburton. He did however blot his copy book with a dig at Brentford’s home support following the win at Bristol City before Christmas.
Wigan’s failure to gain promotion might also see Rosler fish around for a couple of Brentford’s stars – he’s reported to be a fan of Chelsea loanee George Saville for example.
