Not Good Enough At The End

Martin Allen has spoken of his disappointment at not taking all three points against Blackpool and admitted Brentford were better against 11 players than 10.

Blackpool boss Hendry was astounded at the referee’s performance, especially the sending off of Tommy Wright, but Martin Allen was a little more subtle when talking about the match.

‘We could’ve lost it right at the end but I felt we played the better football throughout the game. We were much better against 11 men than we were against 10 but we were simply not clinical enough and we’ll have to improve on that if we’re going to stay near the top of the table.

‘The referee had a hand in the way the game went. I don’t like to criticise officials so I’ll just say that he refereed the game to the best of his abilities.

‘My dad always told me never to have a go at someone if they’ve done their best and I think that was probably his best.’
