It is clear that Scott Hogan is in fantastic form this season after scoring 7 times in 11 games and this has expectedly caught the eye of Ireland assistant boss Roy Keane, who as we know has been to many games so far this year to watch the striker.

Hogan was on the fringes of making the squad towards the end of last season after a fantastic end to the campaign but looks even closer to making the squad now especially after Keane’s clear interest in the player.

Keane revealed in a press conference that although Hogan hasn’t made the squad this time, boss Martin O’Neill is due to meet up with the Bees striker in the next couple of weeks.

As well as O’Neill showing a desire to get Hogan on board with Ireland, Hogan can surely take a huge compliment from the fact that Keane is so keen to bring the goalscorer into the team. Keane was reported as saying “the manager has touched base with him and is due to meet up with him in the next few weeks. We hope he’s keen to get on board” in BALLS.IE.

We hope to see Scott walking out for the Boys In Green in the near future and would be fully deserving of a place in the squad.
