After Brentford recorded a first win against QPR at Loftus Road since 1964 I would think Friday was viewed as one of the ‘best nights’ in football for most of a Bees persuasion wasn’t it!

Josh Clarke got the ball rolling in the two-nil win, which saw Brentford close in on the play-off places ones again, when he combined with the excellent Josh McEachran to give the Bees a half time lead that was warranted.

The 22-year-old commented on the Official Website after the match saying it was personally his ‘best night in football’ with him delighted to get on the score sheet for the second time this season.

‘Tonight is probably my best night in football. I went there full of confidence and I wanted to get a goal or create something. I think we played well and created so many chances so I was delighted when I scored.’

Comfortable at full back but with the ability to play as a winger, as he did on Friday, Clarke is looking to add a greater goal threat to his game though, adding he simply wanted to make an impact in this match, which he did.

‘I wanted to impact the game and I think I did that tonight. I was in the box and as soon as Josh McEachran gave me the ball I just had to turn and shoot with my left foot. Luckily it went in and I was delighted to get another goal. I am focussing and practicing on adding goals and assists to my game so hopefully I can do that in the coming games.’

The QPR win was great for all concerned but he’s already turning his attention to another West London derby with Fulham next Friday, they’ll come to Griffin Park.

He concluded this win will give us greater confidence heading into that match, with it another big one for Brentford with him hoping for a great Bees following to spur us on again.

‘I wanted to just play my game. It was a big game tonight for the fans and for us. I just wanted to get out there with confidence, get on the ball, and create something. It will be another big game and we will go there full of confidence. Hopefully I can create something again. The fans gave me a lot of confidence tonight and hopefully they can get behind us next week and we can perform again.’

What a night and what a win to savour!
