Brentford 0 – 0 Bournemouth

Brentford started slowly in the game of the two League One form teams and never really troubled Muff’s keeper David James throughout the 90 minutes.

Nothing seemed to go right for the bees, the bounce of the ball and refereeing decisions all seemed to go against us. The first 20 minutes the bees were trying in vain to get the ball down and their passing game together but it was the visitors who were more successful at doing so.

Neither keeper had much to do in the first half apart from come out and get balls. Bournemouth closed Moore’s options down in terms of distribution to the back four and he was forced to boot the ball long and we struggled to keep hold of it.

Thankfully, the second half saw the bees come out of the blocks better and Clayton was seeing more of the ball than he did in the first half and we had a bit more success with our triangles than we did in the first.

Although we were better in the second half we still struggled to carve out any good openings and pretty much everything we tried was blocked or just runaway from feet at the last moment. But our approach play improved dramatically from the first half and Forshaw did have one powerful run and shot that just went over the bar.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth were creating the better chances on the break and had four excellent chances, one cleared off the line by Logan, one saved by Moore, one wide and one deflected over.

Overall, two good teams trying to win a close fought game, gave decent entertainment despite the scoreline.
