Head coach Dean Smith cut a frustrated figure in today’s game against former side Walsall.

Having not long moved from the Bescot Stadium to Griffin Park, it was a quick reunion for Smith hosting his former employers and with a certain element of fate to the draw given the managerial swaps, the third round FA Cup clash wasn’t the reunion he wanted.

Losing the game one nil given their first half goal, Brentford’s slightly greater possession and chance creation on the day wasn’t enough to even gain a replay from the match.

Speaking to the media following the full time whistle, Smith was obviously frustrated and disappointed to see the Cup dream end early.
