Brentford’s Championship season continued with a win at Griffin Park against Rotherham on Saturday.

A first win for Carsley as Brentford boss was secured when an opening goal from Judge after a little over a minute, Rotherham drew level through Mattock but another from Judge saw the Bees through to a two-one win to deny the Millers’ new boss Redfearn something in his first-match in charge.

It couldn’t have been a worse possible start for Rotherham’s new boss, but it also couldn’t have been a better one for Brentford, as it took Judge (2) only 67-seconds to fire past Rotherham ‘keeper Camp with a long range volley to make it one-nil to the Bees.

This lead could have been doubled by Djuricin but he couldn’t hit the target when given the chance from a McCormack cross with a fine saving challenge from Dean preventing Derbyshire from drawing the visitors level when Rotherham broke on the counter.

A second could have come before the break as Swift got away from the Rotherham defence with his pull back finding Djuricin but again he couldn’t fine, this time Camp saved to keep him out.

Rotherham, also from distance like the Brentford opener, drew level early in the second half too when Mattock (46) chested the ball down before he fired home for a fine equaliser and great start to the second half for the Millers.

With the hour approaching Judge (57) was on the scoresheet again when Bidwell cross was headed home by the midfielder, with Camp unable to pull off another save, for his second of the game and what proved to be the winner.
