Brentford’s Championship season continued with a win at Griffin Park against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, as caretaker Head Coach Carsley (possibly, if not probably) signed off with a win!

Despite ending with 10-men, when Dean was sent off shortly after Nottingham Forest had cancelled out Canos’ opener as Lansbury scored, Brentford scored a winner deep into injury time when Hofmann won it two-one.

Nottingham Forest had the better of the first half, which despite this ending goalless could have easily seen them ahead! Oliveira had the best of those chances with him denied several times by Brentford ‘keeper Button.

Brentford pushed in the second half with Chelsea loanee Swift seeing his effort saved by de Vries with the Bees then making the breakthrough when sub Canos (63) made the sort of impact you hope from a sub when he finished off when a Dean header fell nicely for him.

When Dean and Nottingham Forest’s Williams clashed the Brentford man collected his second yellow card, which meant he went off for ‘an early bath’ as they say, to leave the Bees to see out the remainder of the game with 10-men.

Nottingham Forest weren’t behind for long though as Lansbury (74) drew the visitors level a little over 10-minutes after falling behind and soon after the sending off.

Despite having 10-men Brentford went in search of a winner with the post denying Tarkowski.

But there was time for a dramatic winner for the Bees though in the sixth-minute of injury-time as Hofmann (90) followed up after Woods saw his effort saved for a last gasp goal!

If this proves to be Carsley’s final game as interim Head Coach he’ll be happy to sign off with a win, with this his fifth in the last seven-matches with this win getting Brentford back to winning ways after two without one as well.
