A review of the Bees next opponents, Chesterfield

The Recreation Ground, Saltergate

Chesterfield’s ground is the oldest ground in the football league, and has been a happy hunting ground for Brentford, as far as my memory goes.
This is an old style football ground with terracing on 3 sides. There is a real buzz, expecially at evening games.
The open air toilets just add to the spectacle !

Long may this ground be one of the dying breed of grounds, harking back to the days of pints, pies and flat caps in football.

Best pub—The Chesterfield Arms

Recent Memory–Isiah Rankin’s stunning half volley in a 3-1 away win last season.

Do—-focus your taunts to the volatile west stand, they love it !

Don’t—go for chips after the game, the west stand massive also love chips
