Brentford headed to New York on Saturday afternoon, not the New York in America but the New York Stadium and the home of Rotherham United.

We duly retuned home with all three-points after a 2-0 win.

Rotherham started well and were twice unfortunate not to take the lead as firstly Kirk Broadfoot, with a header against the bar and Paul Taylor, who saw his shot beat David Button but not the bar, were denied by the woodwork.

To add insult to Rotherham’s misery Alan Judge’s pass to Andre Gray (45), his first since a summer arrival from Luton Town, allowed him to fire us into a one-nil half time lead.

Matt Derbyshire went through, and could and perhaps should, have equalised for the hosts but his effort was weak and was easily gathered by Button.

Deep into injury-time Nick Proschwitz (90) finished to secure us a two-nil win.
