On Friday evening, winger Florian Jozefzoon signed a 12 month extension to his contract at Brentford.

It means his deal now extends through until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Dutch winger, a former Netherlands Under 21 international, first arrived at Griffin Park in January for an undisclosed fee from PSV Eindhoven and he signed an initial six months contract at the time.

That deal included an option that was triggered at the end of last season seeing him through until next summer, but that has now been extended by a further period.

The 26 year old was a regular during the second half of last season for head coach Dean Smith, making six starts to take his total appearances for the club to 19 for the season and he also contributed a maiden goal in the Championship, along with three assists.

Speaking to the Official Site Smith said of the deal.

‘Florian showed the staff enough last season to earn himself a new contract. He excited us when he made his debut against Aston Villa and hasn`t disappointed since. We are really pleased that Flo has signed a longer-term contract with the Football Club. He will be a great addition.’
