Brentford deservedly beat Crawley 2-1 today at Griffin Park to go five games unbeaten

Brentford had dominated early proceedings but a combination of the linesman, woodwork and Crawley keeper Jones had kept the scores level.

However an astute pass from Adam Forshaw in the 23rd minute opened Crawley up and Clayton Donaldson opened the scoring with a calm finish.

Brentford continued to cause problems for the visitors, with Harry Forrester conjuring up some quality on the left flank.

A moment of madness from Shaleum Logan let Town back into the game just before the hour mark – he had sprinted back to mop up a dangerous ball but rather than clear in to touch he knocked the ball past the despairing Simon Moore and Nicky Adams slid the ball home to level the scores. Disaster

Crawley then started to wake up a bit and had the better of play for a ten to fifteen minute spell. Uwe eventually spotted the need to make a sub and within a couple of minutes Tom Adeyemi had lofted a through ball to Clayton which he deftly lifted over the keepers head. The ball seemed to hang in the air for about an hour – chased by Donaldson and a defender but eventually made it over the goal-line. Brilliant.

As Brentford sought to close out the game, Farid El Alagui collapsed in a heap after a fairly innocuous collision and was treated on the pitch for five minutes before being stretchered off. If he’s out for a while we will need to replace him.

Rosler called all of his players back bar Donaldson and Forrester in the final two minutes and managed to hand the advantage to Crawley who fortunately wasted a dangerous free kick.

Brentford were decent today and seemed to have reverted to a more orthodox 4-4-2 and a win was fully deserved

Oh and Gary Alexander was bloody awful.
