On Thursday afternoon, Sky Sports was reporting Brentford were close to completing the signing of Kamohelo Mokotjo.

Brentford are looking to bring in South African international midfielder Mokotjo from Dutch club FC Twente.

Brentford were reportedly putting Mokotjo through a medical on Thursday ahead of a proposed arrival at Griffin Park after a fee of £880,000 was agreed for the defensive midfielder.

Having began his career in his homeland at SuperSport United the midfielder, 26, moved on to Feyenoord in 2009 before a switch to PEC Zwolle, ending up at Twente in 2014 and now, it seems, Dean Smith’s latest addition at Brentford.

Goalkeeper Luke Daniels had come in from Scunthorpe along with right back Henrik Dalsgaard.
