Brentford are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by goalkeeper Daniel Bentley in the one nil victory over Millwall at the weekend at Griffin Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bentley was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Brentford picked up their first home victory in eight games with a 1-0 triumph over Millwall at Griffin Park, and Bentley played an instrumental part in that. Accompanying his clean sheet, the Bees` ‘keeper preserved his side`s lead when he superbly kept out a Lee Gregory penalty 10 minutes from time.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Bentley for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Dan Bentley (Brentford), Leandro Bacuna (Reading), Ben Richards-Everton (Accrington Stanley), Chris Basham (Sheffield United), Matty Taylor (Swindon Town), Diogo Jota (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Luke Berry (Luton Town), Sammy Ameobi (Bolton Wanderers), Oliver Hawkins (Portsmouth), Tom Pope (Port Vale), Padraig Amond (Newport County).

Manager – Steve Cotterill (Birmingham City).
