Brentford ended their season with a 3-2 win, the scoreline flattering their relegated opponents.

The Bees took the lead early in the game when Leon Legge appeared to get the slightest of touches onto a Sam Saunders free kick.

Uwe’s team roared out after the break, pickpocketing the hosts in midfield before Saunders driving run set up Toumani Diagouraga to fire home from 12 yards.

The hosts pulled a goal back when Moussa scored after the ball rebounded off Simon Moore’s post – and the young keeper made a smart save shortly afterwards to keep Brentford ahead.

Clayton Donaldson made sure of the three points with a header from substitute Jake Reeves’ delightful corner as Chesterfield supporters started calling for the head of manager John Sheridan.

The home fans did have a late Allot goal to celebrate – smashed home from 20 yards – but face next season in League Two.

The Bees played some nice fluent football today and it was great to see the players come over to the supporters at the end to dish out shirts, gloves and boots. Uwe also made his way over to hand out some towering high fives.

We finish the season in ninth position with some real cause for optimism for next term.

Rosler is set to meet with his squad on Monday and Tuesday – after Sunday’s Big Red Ball – to discuss their futures at the club.

eesotted believes that Shaleum Logan will be offered another contract and that Harlee Dean is close to agreeing terms.

Uwe has also made it clear that he is very interested in bringing Evertonians Bidwell and Forshaw back to Griffin Park next season.

Bees – Lee, Logan, Pim, Dean, Legge, Bidwell (Thompson), Saunders (Reeves), Dave, Douglas, Forrester (Morrison), Donaldson

Unused Bees – Norris, McGinn
