Marcus Bean confirmed his departure from Brentford on twitter today after four seasons at the club.

The Beanie Man – who started his career at QPR – messaged ‘My time at Brentford has come to an end. Been great period in my life, wish club every success.’

“Would like to thank all the supporters who made me feel welcome and made me feel at home. Some great memories with some great people!”

Bean had won the Community Sports Trust Player of the Season award at the weekend and was a popular, if sometimes limited player, who put in 100% effort on the pitch.

His winning goal against Hull in the League Cup last season – a diving header – will live on long in the memory.

Karleigh Osborne – who almost joined Reading in January – also looks to be on his way to pastures new after tweeting ‘With a doubt I love the club but think its time for a fresh start and I really hope that Brentfordfc get where they deserve to be’
