Following Brentford’s three one victory over Leeds United at Griffin Park this weekend, Yoann Barbet has reflected on a ‘great night’ for the side.

With goals coming from Neal Maupay, Barbet himself and a late Ryan Woods effort, Brentford made it three wins from three and Barbet couldn’t have been more delighted as he spoke to the media at the full time whistle.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media to reflect on the game at the full time whistle, he said of the floodlight lit game.

‘It was a great night for us to make it three victories out of three. I thought that we played really well during the first half and should have gone in with more than a one-goal advantage. They were better during the second half and deserved to score, but we kept going and got the win.’

With Dan Bentley’s error on the day leading to their leveller, the Frenchman was quick to defend his colleague.

‘It happens. Bents has saved us a lot of times already this year; he made a mistake but we still have the three points – I’m happy we got the win for him.’

With the November international break now in force and a fortnight lull in fixtures, Barbet said it was a great time for the side to rest up and freshen up ahead of the coming fixtures.

‘We have to refresh our minds and then try to extend our unbeaten run for as long as possible. We’re in a good way at the moment but we won before the last international break, too. We have a lot of games so it’ll be good to have a bit of a rest before the three games next month.’

Adding.

‘There were nearly 800 at Birmingham and they made a lot of noise and tonight was the same – the atmosphere was brilliant. I hope that they can keep going like this and we can continue to repay them.’
